One of the goals of the Gateway Huskers is to award scholarships to incoming freshmen from eastern Missouri and southwestern Illinois who attend the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.

Due to Division 1 NCAA regulations, if you will be a student athlete at UNL, you are not eligible for these scholarships.

If you are a student that meets the criteria above, you are encouraged to apply.

The scholarships are named in honor of Mike Price, who was instrumental in establishing this Alumni Chapter.

The scholarships range from $500 to $1,000.

An applicant must verify that he/she is not a student athlete and give permission to Gateway Huskers to contact his/her High School Counselor to verify any information. An applicant must also acknowledge that any scholarship award is contingent upon enrollment and attendance at the University of Nebraska Lincoln and, therefore, any monetary award will not be made until September 2025.

As explained on the Application, if the applicant has a Google Account, he/she may amend or edit the application prior to final submission. However, once the application has been submitted, it may not be amended.

Applications for the 2025 – 2026 school year will be taken through Sunday, March 30, 2025. The applications will be reviewed by members of the Board of Gateway Huskers and recipients will be notified in late April 2025.
